Pet insurance claims handle differently than human health insurance. Most veterinarians require you to pay for your pet’s costs at the time of service, even if you have pet insurance. You then need to submit a claim to your pet insurance company if you believe that some or all of the costs of your vet visit should be covered. In some cases, your veterinarian may be able to submit a claim on your behalf and Pumpkin can pay your vet directly.
Pumpkin allows customers to submit a claim online or it can provide a claims form if requested. After you’ve submitted your claim, Pumpkin will review the claim and determine whether it can be covered. If it is, you’ll receive reimbursement for the covered costs on your claim after you have met your annual deductible.

Pumpkin offers robust pet insurance plans for dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. If you’re considering Pumpkin as your pet insurance provider, keep in mind the reimbursement limits in its policies. Plus, you can weigh that against the fact that there is no annual limit on coverage, meaning pets that need quite a lot of care will not exhaust their policy every year. Even though it has minor limitations, Pumpkin is a good option for most pet families.
